Super Girl Facilitator Monica Keel
Area: Beaver Dam
Monica has been working with young children since she was practically a child herself, baby siting, coaching softball and basketball, teaching Sunday school, and after all of that, she somehow thought she would pursue a career in Marketing.
After only 2 weeks of working at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Children’s Center, did she realize her true calling. Early childhood was her initial draw, but thanks to volunteering two years in a row at an annual AAUW event with local middle school girls a new passion was sparked.
After teaching kindergarten for 13 years, Monica has rediscovered her passion for teaching and empowering young girls. After some searching for an avenue to best meet girls needs, Monica stumbled across Severson Sisters one evening on the local news channel, and the rest is history.
Monica stays very busy with her 3 children, 2 daughters and a son, her husband and her very playful puppy. Living in Wisconsin doesn’t leave a lot of time for the great outdoors, but during the summer months, gardening, playing family sports, and exercising keep her busy. In the Winter, snow-shoeing is her new favorite. Teaching and inspiring those she meets along the way.
Please stay tuned for Monica’s first Super Girl event…good things are brewing!
Super Girl Facilitator Ally Morrow
Area: Menomonee Falls
Ally is fulfilling an internship through Severson Sisters as a facilitator in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. She is currently in her senior year at Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin, where she is majoring in Educational Studies.
Ally got her start in working with young girls as a camp counselor at a residential summer camp for Girl Scouts. Growing up, Ally was a Girl Scout for seven years and attended summer camp almost every summer. The values and confidence that she gained from these experiences, is one of the primary reasons Ally decided to become a camp counselor and, after a few summers, the Counselor In Training Director, which involves working with high school girls who aspire to become camp counselors.
In addition to recreation, Ally has been volunteering at elementary schools for many years and enjoys any chance she can to work with children both in the classroom and the community. When she is not studying or working, Ally enjoys running as a part of her collegiate cross country and track teams at Carroll University. Ally is very excited about the goals that the Severson Sisters program encompasses and is looking forward to encouraging young girls to become Super Girls.
